“Have purchased from BB and waiting for delivery and installation of Samsung UN65U8000FFXZA (65") TV. The cabinet upon which my old 65" TV sat is 44" long. Are you able to confirm that this new TV will fit OK on that same cabinet? Tried to attach photo.”

I am a Geek Squad Installer. I can tell you that your new 65" Samsung TV is 56.9" wide, 34.7" tall (with the feet attached) 32.7" tall (without the feet attached), if your cabinet is 44 inches wide, the TV will not fit.
