• We did. Check your width of your tv. Ours overhanged on each end less than a quarter of an inch. Not even notible

• My 50 fits nicely in the middle with room on either side. I don't see why a 55 wouldn't fit.

• It's very heavy, and a flat screen isn't that heavy, so it will hold it. Just check the width on the tv stand vs the tv before you order it.

• No, this stand is only rated for up to 50'' televisions. If a larger television is used it could cause dangerous tipping issues.
