Will this play the .AVI, .MPEG, .MKV, .MP4, .MPG, .M2TS, files appropriately? What is the max bitrate the wireless card can handle? Will it stream 1080p files without using the USB drive? What codecs come installed as default?”

• It is DLNA compatible. I use it to stream movies from a Western Digital network drive running a Twonky media server. Not sure about the other parts of your question.

• Absolutely. There are countless apps for DLNA for streaming content of all kinds from local networks and from across the Internet.
