I was able to get this TV for under $180 while it was on sale and with a coupon. That being said I didn't have the same expectations for it as I would have for a Bravia or Aquos. However, it performs find for what I purchased it for, my dorm room. I purchased a third part remote at the exact moment I saw what the included one was. It is a shame that they would choose to include such a pitiful remote with this TV. I bought a Universal Direct TV remote and it works great. Also, I wish they could have included an Ethernet port for a hard wired connection. For anybody that lives in an apartment or dorm room where wifi can be congested and slow you will experience buffering no matter what you speed is. I don't think the wifi antenna is very strong on this TV. The coaxial hookup is on the back of the TV in a recess pointing down so it is extremely difficult to connect your cord given the small cutout on the back. It has good picture and okay sound, but I use an external sound bar so the speakers are rarely used on this TV. This TV would be find for a child's bedroom or College dorm room but I wouldn't recommend using it as your primary TV . I have attached a picture of the included remote. It is small and can slip between cushions in a couch or be lost behind pillow in a bed, but I recommend using the roku app to turn you phone or tablet into a remote. .

So far so good with this TV. It's an auxiliary monitor and entertainment TV in my at home office and it's serving its purpose well. The built in Roku device is a great feature. Picture quality is excellent and I'd certainly recommend this.

I may not have gotten a huge name brand but I read the reviews and this TV seems to work just as well. I have it set up and working great. It's easy to learn how to use after coming from an old box TV. I like the simplicity of the remote as well. All in all I'm very pleased!

I love this TV! The set-up process was so easy, the TV practically set itself up. It walks you through every step, and you basically just need to set your preferences and enter your wifi password. There are tons of channels to choose from, both free and for purchase, as well as games, music, and even Facebook photos and videos. Plus, you can hook up your Xbox and it’ll appear right on your home screen along with all of your other channels so you don’t have to keep switching inputs.
The remote is also really easy to use. The buttons are simple, and there are even buttons to bring up specific apps, like Netflix. If you have the Roku app on your phone you can use that as a remote too, which makes searching for movies and shows even easier. The only thing that would make the remote better is having a search button that allows you to search within an app without having to find the app’s search bar.
I also love that it’s super light, so that when my roommates and I have girls’ night I can bring it out into the living room for everyone to enjoy. The picture and sound qualities are great, and streaming is just as easy as on my computer, if not easier. I definitely recommend this TV!

Couldn't get past the activation process, tried several times. Either Insignia's website was down or it was our tv- returned it for another smart tv I didn't have to key personal information into in order to watch it.

One of the best priced Smart TVs you can buy

Having purchased a previous 32" Insignia TV a few years ago for a den and being impressed by it's picture quality, I decided to check them out again for another 32", this time for a bedroom. Just happened to noticed this one was on sale at a price cheaper than the previous Insignia I purchased AND also happened to come with the Roku Smart TV platform built-in, and decided to take a chance. And I'm glad I did because it's one of the best Smart TVs I've ever used, as well as one of the easiest, and have since bought another for a second bedroom.
Setup was easy and features one of the most well laid out home screens of any Smart TV platform. Picture quality is great, especially at this price range, but the lack of individual color adjustments for red, green, and blue may bother people. In my case, color looks fairly well tuned, especially under the standard picture mode, but you may want to boost the color saturation just a little. Other picture modes tend to vary wildly in both color and contrast.
Sound quality was also surprisingly better than expected, since even the major brand names tend to pack such low quality speakers into their TVs so often that sound bars are usually considered a must. For a large family room, you may still need to consider a sound bar if you want a home theater-like experience, but for a bedroom or den the sound quality is perfect.
The remote is going to be hit or miss for some people since it's basically a regular Roku media player remote, with only basic media playback controls and no channel number pad. Channels can be selected, but only through an onscreen menu you have to arrow through. This doesn't bother me though since I have neither an antenna or a cable/satellite service and simply use streaming only. Most cable/satellite services also usually provide you with their own remote to use with their set top boxes, and that seems to be what Insignia & Roku are counting on you to use. However, they should consider adding a basic channel number pad in a future revision for antenna users.
The Roku platform is incredibly full featured, with plenty of options to mess around with and a large library of streaming channels available. Virtually all of the majors are here, and there is a near endless sea of free channels available to watch. The only missing feature is a web browser, either built-in or third party, and is the only feature that rival Smart TV platforms have that is missing here. Since I have yet to come across a Smart TV web browser that ever provided a decent internet surfing experience, I doubt a Roku web browser would be any better and is therefore not missed.
Some would argue that the lack of a web browser means no way to watch the free version of Hulu, which is browser based only. But since browser based Hulu requires Flash, which virtually no Smart TV web browser supports, this would be a moot issue anyway. If necessary, consider an HTPC-style setup or a Windows-based PC stick. The Roku platform also features beta Miracast support, so you could try casting your tablet to this TV for internet surfing and free Hulu viewing if desired.
All in all, this is probably one of the best Smart TVs you can get at this price range, with decent picture and sound quality, and a Smart TV platform that's likely to get much longer life support than any of the major name brands would probably provide for their own.

I purchased 2 recently (July 2015) for my daughters since the TVs they had were over 10 years old and not working properly. The price was what caught my eye, and then to see that Roku is built in with 1080p sealed the deal. Very pleased with the picture and sound quality and the size is just right for their rooms. They love the internet features and there is no need to add a cable/satellite box to their rooms since they enjoy watching Netflix and YouTube.

This is a pretty good little TV for the money. Its not the cheapest, but you are getting a lot of little features to help make up for that. If you do netflix or anything on Roku, then you will understand why this is a neat little TV.
Everything about it is plug and play, meaning, you just plug it in, and it will detect your cable box, set itself up, and then start the process to connect to your wifi so you can set up your Roku. I had problems with this step and I have yet to figure out if its the TV or the wireless router, but Im leaning toward the router. Also, the remote is very small (like other Roku remotes) and its easy to hit the wrong button. I have not tried to set up my cable remote to control the TV yet, but I have high hopes it too will work without a hitch.

I was looking for a nice TV to put in my bedroom and feel like I struck gold with this model. What really sold me was the built in Roku. I was considering what I was going to use to stream shows on this TV since I was not going to have a cable box, it was going to be either a Roku or an Amazon Fire Stick but finding a TV with one already build in made my decision very quick. The size is perfect, the picture is awesome and I love how thin and light it is. And you can't beat the price.

Did a fair amount of research, checking various tech websites before finally purchasing the Insignia - 32 Class (31.5 Diag.) - LED - 1080p - Smart - HDTV Roku TV.
As part of an effort to limit my dependence upon increasingly outrageous monthly cable bills, I am pleased to report that set-up is amazingly simple and the picture quality is quite good, especially given the relatively low price of this television. Additionally, the built-in Roku as a digital alternative offering multiple viewing sources (ranging from Netflix to YouTube and several others) is a definite plus. Some reviewers have complained about the volume control's location on the side of the remote, but that's not a deal breaker for me.
If you're a smart person in the market for a very decent, affordable smart TV, this is the one to buy.

Great picture and this TV has the best sound that I've ever heard from and LED TV.
Setting it up was as easy as 1-2-3!
Roku is kind of a pain in the rear as you search for and set up your preferred channels but once you've got a base set of channels, it's really pretty awesome. This is a WIFI TV so you will need to make sure that you have a good WIFI signal. You can also hook it up to your existing cable and switch between ROKU and cable which is a nice option.
We have had on a very rare occasions where the video has to play catch up (similar to what happens on YouTube) but that has been EXTREMELY rare.
The features that were already on this TV along with the price, picture quality and sound make it an excellent purchase IMHO. The size is perfect for a smaller room plus the picture seems to adjust for the lighting in the room (we have it in an area near a fireplace which is probably a 12 x 15 area.
I would highly recommend this TV to anyone who is considering the purchase of a ROKU TV.
