“Great unit, but has anyone had any luck finding a wall charger for these units? Noting in directions or on sites. Uniden says there is a charging base, but it is made by a 3rd party, doesn't know the maker or the model number. I find this rather strange.”

Ours came with a base unit set up for a USB port. We took the universal wall plug end from one of our phone charges. Worked just fine.
