• no. it does not have an internal battery. while it comes with a power cord that uses your car's cigarette lighter, you can buy an aftermarket hardwire kit to connect this to your vehicle, as well as purchase an aftermarket mount to place this just below your rear view mirror. Many happy customers have posted videos on how to do this.

• Mine is not cordless for power, nor does it have wireless connectivity. I run an aftermarket power wire from my fuse box up along the side of the windshield then across the top of it. I then mount the detector up high. That keeps the wires out of the way and power outlets open. Since the fuse is switched, the detector powers up and down with the car, which I like. There are several tutorials on how to do that online
