There is a GPS tracker built into the mirror that I believe adds GPS coordinates to the metadata in your video files. It also provides a GPS-based speed readout that you can set to display in kilometers or miles. The setup menu also provides you with information about how many satellites the GPS is using, the accuracy of the reading in feet/meters, and your exact location in longitude and latitude. The only GPS information displayed on the main screen is your speed and a green icon that indicates GPS is active and operational. I am not sure if the GPS-derived speed is also embedded in the metadata of the video recordings. You can also adjust the GPS indicated speed up or down a total of 6 mph in 2 mph increments to match your vehicle's speedometer reading. There is no map guidance built into the mirror, you'll need to use your phone or some other GPS device equipped with maps. Since a typical speedometer is less accurate than GPS, a reason why you would choose to make your GPS speed less accurate by choice escapes me.
