The amount of time is dependent on the MPG2 or MPG4 video capture compression ratio. The compression ratio is controlled by the software for the video capture device/recorder. An average compression of 9.7 Mbit/s will give 60 minutes on a 4.7 Gb disc. If the average compression is lowered to 2.5 Mbit/s it will give 240 minutes on a 4.7 Gb disc. The higher the compression the better the video quality.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you are using Windows DVD maker to burn your discs, then it will allow you to put 150 minutes worth of time on it, at least on Windows 7. I am not sure how it works with other programs or systems. If your movie is longer than 2 and a half hours, you would just have to split it up, I guess.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.IF YOUR RECORDER IS ABLE TO ALLOW YOU TO GO FROM SP, LP, EXP, SLP THEN YOU CAN GET AT TIMES EVEN 4 MOVIES DEPENDING ON EACH LENGTH AND IF YOU COPY FROM THE VERY START TO END. I DON'T DO THAT ON OLD MOVIES OR SUCH. I WAIT TIL LAST COMPANY PRESENTING THE MOVIES SHOW AND START THERE AND CLOSE AFTER CAST IS SHOWN. SAVES TIME AND MEMORY.
