I paid Verizon $40 a month and had an iPhone. It’s called a prepaid plan. My iPhone died and I needed a new one so I went to Best Buy. They took the Sim out of my old phone popped it in the new one and it worked great.

After that point you can get the phone unlocked and move to another cell provider.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.a prepaid phone is a phone that does not have a yearly contract. When you buy a prepaid phone you select the company that will provide the Minutes/data. such as--tracfone-net 10- metro- ATT&T- or others. they provide a service, not THE service. Verizon provides the CELL service, but not the minutes. With a prepaid phone there are not monthly charges, if you run out of time you buy another "card" to add to it. If you are an infrewuent phone user this is cheaper. If you live by your phone, get a contract one, with unlimited minutes/data/ G's.. Hope this helped
