I don’t think so. I wanted to use mine with my old T-Mobile SIM card and no luck. In fact it wouldn’t even accept the Verizon Prepaid SIM card as it arrived locked. You definitely have to activate through a carrier that Best Buy sells, then they can resolve the lock issue as they did for me.
