I haven't time to try this version yet but I had an earlier version from this same brand and all you needed was a VCR and a computer with a CD/DVD Burner.

I've used it with Windows 7 & 10 pcs with no issues until a couple days ago (May 2020). Frankly, with the vast changes in computer technology over the past 10+ years, I was amazed it had continued to function perfectly. Have purchased this newer version to replace it. Very happy with the simplicity, great track record, and final results.
