Yes and No. If you hook up the VCR through the device into the computer, you can copy copy-protected movies. However you may get fading color or lines at the bottom. This is caused by the copy-protection. In that case, a line conditioner may be needed. I am actually doing the same thing. 3 out 4 movies have worked so far. Hope this helps.
