I understand your question and am trying to find out the same answer. Do you need to carry the OEM fob, you probably have a push-button start. Will the phone app or Viper fobs allow you to drive the vehicle or do you need to also carry the OEM fob?
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It comes with its own fob. I would not recommend this unit. It doesn’t turn fan on in vehicle to blow heat. Even though it says it their add it does.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. That is a very special kind of question, perhaps you really are trying to ask something different, the reality is that the fob always works, so long as it has a battery in it, but that doesn't mean that you car will be started in New York, if you have the fob in Florida. It also doesn't mean that just any fob, picked up from a flea market is going to replace the fob that came with it. You can purchase a replacement fob, and have it programmed to work with your system, you can also install the app on your smart phone, should you happen to have lost your fob, or a 4 yr old decided it needed to be tested for water submersion, after being disassembled with a hammer. There are many ways that the fob works great with the starter, and also that the starter can work without the original fob. Unfortunately with the limited range on these, unless you have someone nearby with the fob(within a mile or so of your car), it is not going to be of much use when it is estranged from its beloved starter and your car.
I would recommend:
