Something is wrong if you are getting poor quality over optical. It's possible, but unlikely that it is the cable, as fiber tends to either work or not.

I disabled the TV's built in speakers from the menu. Bluetooth is only for listing to devices other than your TV. I suggest reading the user manual for configuration options. Good luck!!!
