Yes u need to buy another ethernet cable to connect your dvd player to the tv.It is very easy because there are two HDMI outlets on the back of the tv

Also u can buy another ethernet cable to go from your cable box to your tv for High Def.I have prism and thats what i plan on doing to get High Def on my tv.
