• Not every app is castable on TV so you have to download the castable app. Example is Amazon Video or Facebook are not castable app

• No. This set itself has no "apps" and none can be installed. It has GoogleCast, which lets you use a smartphone or tablet to stream content from that device to the TV, but any relevant apps must be downloaded to and able to be run on the separate device. (That's mostly relevant to smartphones. Older smartphones might not be able to handle that functionality.)
