“vizio m-60c3 my moms tv is hooked up to directv . A couple of times a day for a few seconds the screen will go dark no sound says no signal then will come right back on. have switch out the directv receiver made no difference any body else had this to happen? should we take it back?”

It is probably your HDMI cable. I was having the same problem and bought a new cable and the problem stopped. Also make sure you aren't hooked up to HDMI 5 unless you are streaming 4k via that Direct TV receiver.

I would call technical support first, because it can be normal. The tv might just be detecting the video source and adjusting the resolution or the picture, which is why it "refreshes" (turns dark for a second or two)
