I chose this tv on a random visit to the store. I was unaware of what 4K was, but I'm more then happy with the decision. I like Vizio, the clarity of the picture is amazing, and it's easy to use for the whole family.

After extensive research all over the web for better than a month we landed on the Vizio M43c1. Our purchase decision was based on price and size. Like other reviewers, out of the box the picture is horrible. You have to calibrate a lot of settings, I'll post the pictures of how I set up our TV. Others reviews are correct, the speakers are not great but I was not concerned since we are running it through 5.1 system and turning off the TV speakers. Be careful with setting it up, flat service is needed to install the feet which was a breeze, 4 screws and a philips screw driver. Also make sure you have a lint free clot to get the finger prints off the edges once you put it in place, DO NOT PRESS ON THE SCREEN, LIGHTLY RUB until the prints dissappear, I did it without any liquid. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL SCREEN CLEANERS. MAKE SURE IF YOU HAVE TO THAT YOU USE ALCOHOL FREE SCREEN CLEANER. Netflix app works flawlessly, I haven't played with the other apps, make sure you connect wireless to your Internet which is a breeze. There was an update that was pushed by Vizio, we had a notification the next day that an update was done. Great picture even in semi bright room. It does take some time to adjust to the details on the TV, We came from a CRT TV so it took a few days to adjust to it. No complaints. Great Price, Picture and colors. Solid black whites and grays. Check out my calibrations in the pictures below. The list below is under More Picture Settings Under More Picture: Color Temp Normal Black Detail Off Active Led Zones On Reduce Judge 3 Clear Action On Reduce Noise both are Off Game Low Latency Off Film Mode Auto Color Space Auto Gamma 2.2 See pictures below for additional color tuner and picture settings. Curious to see what others think about my settings feel free to comment. I would highly recommend this television.

I bought this TV because it was the cheapest 4K TV on the market, biggest mistake of my life!! Within less than a month, the TV for some reason now has a horizontal blurry line that's about 4 inches tall and goes across the whole screen. Also, the top part of what ever you're watching over laps on the bottom (not sure if you guy get me). Do keep in mind that Best Buy only gives you 14 days to return TVs, unfortunately, this happened on the 18th day.......Here's some photos (it looks worse in person)

I use this TV for cable (hd), streaming with a couple of the apps it comes with in 4k, xbox 360, and I have it connected via hdmi to my pc for movies and games as well... This is a phenomenal TV. The screen change get so black that it looks off, which is pretty black... And it gets pretty bright too if you want it set high. Colors are crisp, menus are great, the controller includes a back-lit qwerty keyboard on the back for use in the smart TV apps. Tons of connections. I compared this to the sharp model next to it in stores and the back lightin and zone dimming on the Vizio blew away the edge lighting on the sharp. You can't beat this picture for under $1k... And even at $600, you would rather buy this than any of the cheap ones online from China if you saw them up close, regardless of cost... I did.

First of all, this TV looks fantastic! Although there isn't much 4K yet, the upsampling does a pretty decent job without fragments/blurring. The arrayed backlight means blacks are actually black. In fact, on black scenes, it's hard to know if the TV is on or off (I recommend turning on the setting to turn on a small LED light in the corner if the TV is powered on). The speakers are decent for a TV, although I have my external speakers plugged in most of the time. The viewing angles are pretty decent, although I do start to notice some saturation issues when at an extreme side angle. But, as long as you're relatively in front of it, I don't notice any issue. The built-in software works very nicely, especially with the remote. It's nice to hit the Netflix button and have it there. I typically use a Chromecast, so don't have a huge review for the built-in software. But, it's nice to use the remote to pause/play whatever's playing on the Chromecast. Very helpful! Would definitely recommend!

I saw this TV in an ad before Black Friday and decided to check it out in store. I compared it between an LG 55' and the Samsung 43' 4k UHD TV's. The picture on this Vizio beat out the LG hands down and I think is on par with the Samsung. The Samsung was $100 or so dollars more so I went with the Vizio because it was affordable. Set up was easy and I like that the remote has a keyboard built onto the back of it. The only draw back to this is the back lighting for the keyboard times out with in a few seconds. Other than that, I have had no problems with this TV. I mainly use this TV for gaming and all of my games look stunning on it, especially Star Wars Battlefront. Netflix and movies also look amazing since they are all up converted. I highly recommend this TV for anyone on a budget and looking for their first 4K UHD TV!

This 4K TV is amazing for the money! I previously had a Samsung 4K 28 inch monitor and returned when I came to understand the only way to 4K content on most streaming services is through and app. So I figured for less than 100 dollars more why not get a 4K TV that I could use as a monitor for my gaming PC plus have access to streaming 4K content. Initially I was skeptical as I like a high quality display for computing and most TV's even some more expensive ones just can't deliver when it comes to using it for a monitor. This Vizio however displays text and web pages crystal clear, it's sharp and easy to read. I was truly impressed, no it's not as good as an iPad or Samsung tablet for reading text but it's not that far behind either. Gaming at 4K is out of this world as you can see so much more especially useful in FPS like BF4. Even at 4K 30Hz my SLI 660ti provide a smooth experience at lower detail settings. Keep in mind if you want 4K at 60Hz you will need a video are that is capable of doing so over HDMI as this unit nor most TV's have a display port. For movies it's also great 1080 content displays very nice and if you did not know better watching many movies on Amazon or Netflix the average person would think it's 4K. Overall I do not have many complaints. For starters it really needs a display port but I can not really fault Vizio and most UHDTV's from all manufacturers do not have them either. Color accuracy out of the box will be fine for most people but more the more discerning will need to adjust it to be happy. I would rate the color accuracy good, its better than most TV's but let's face it most people buying a 4K want the premium experience offered by more expensive sets and are willing to pay for it. Bottom line if you need to have 4K now and want an affordable set that works well in all usage scenarios and really has no major flaws for under 600 dollars then this is the TV for you! I give it 5 stars due to it's amazing value and the simple fact nothing at $600 presently can compare to this unit when all things are considered. If you were wondering about the speakers they are ok a little better than what most people are accustomed to on modern flat panel TV's and it does the trick but anyone who like the HD sound to go with the picture needs to get a quality sound bar or hook it up to a receiver/home theater.

To start off I purchased this TV only after doing my research. After going through a plethora of TV models prices ect. I've found that the picture is great and has a good refresh rate for a nice picture wile gaming and movie watching. There is no Web browser but does have some good apps to use and it's nice to have 3 quick buttons for Netflix. Prime video, and Iheart radio. Compared to other TV's in this price range few come close with quality and price I've had Samsung TV's for some time now this was a good switch.

Let me start by saying the first model I bought wouldn't power up, so I had to return it. I researched the problem and eventually found (actually, a friend did) one other person with the same issue. That's out of dozens and dozens of reviews. So I had no issue exchanging it for the same model. With that out of the way, this is a pretty good TV. This is my first LCD TV, my previous TV being one of the last CRT HDTVs. I initially had a problem getting rid of the Soap Opera effect and using the Film Mode reverse pulldown feature. You had to use their Game Latency Mode which disabled the Film Mode. It did seem I was able to get rid of the SOE without the game mode, but the moment I switched inputs the SOE came back. I detailed email to Vizio support resulted in a response within a couple of hours. Their fix didn't work, but the next morning when I turned on the TV it said it downloaded and installed a firmware update. Problem fixed. I'm now able to remove the SOE without using the game mode. The picture is very customizable. Very detailed. They have SMPTE color bars you can use to adjust your picture. I thought the yellow had too much green and was able to adjust the hue of just the yellow alone. Using the THX picture adjustment features off of a DVD copy of Indiana Jones I was able to get the picture set just the way I like it. It does come with an app for free 4K video to look at. The difference is noticeable, but I can see how you wouldn't get the full effect unless you had a larger screen. The Facebook app doesn't work. I've already tried a solution they recommended, but it still doesn't work. That's something I still haven't followed up on. Also I started to view a movie with the Netflix app the other night. Seeing as how I already had the picture set to my liking and every other source looked fine, I was disappointed with the picture on their app. Black levels were too high. I finished watching the movie through the app on my blue ray player and the picture was fine.

The television was good for price for 4K. I had originally bought a Vizio, but that was not good from an angle. The Sony does not change when you view from an angle, but I would say the Vizio was better straight on. There are definitely some dim spots in darker scenes, and at times I do wish I could increase the backlight, but overall, I am satisfied while waiting for OLED to become more affordable.

I'll start off by saying this is the best TV I have ever owned. The picture quality is absolutely amazing. There is a wide variety of picture quality controls as well. And it doesn't need a sound bar, the built in speakers has pretty good clarity and sustain. The stand is sleek and takes 2 seconds to install. It has 5 HDMI ports and a usb which is great. Plus your basic component inputs. The $69 2 year warranty was a no brainier too. It covers just about anything that could go wrong with it. Overall I couldn't be more happy with this purchase.

I was originally going to go cheap with a changhong, hisense, or spectre 50", but I could only find a hisense in stores and it didn't hold a candle to this Vizio. The Vizio is one of the cheapest priced big brand 4k sets, and trumps all the rest with features the larger priced models have like 120hz, hdmi 2.0, tons of inputs and outputs, and especially the zone lighting and diming which makes this the only 4k in its price range that can give you such a crisp and awesome picture. I wish the smart system was Android or roku based, but it is a yahoo enabled system with all the core apps you want on it for serious TV watching. I use this also as a second monitor for my computer using a display port to hdmi 1.4 active converter which gets me 30fps at 4k (if only my computer had hdmi 2.0) and even games are just amazing... Arma3 maxed out at 4k, or bioshock infinite maxed out, they are just so sooooh nice... And in GRID racing, I'm so distracted how good it looks in 4k that I keep hitting walls... Buy this TV. It's the best you can get for the money, and blows away even similar sized 1080p screens which cost about the same.

This tv is amazing, the only reason for trading in was because I wanted a bigger screen, the picture is great, the remote has a convenient full qwerty keyboard on the reverse side. And it's slim design are wonderful, only complaint is that the tv legs on bottom are at the edge instead of the middle, it didn't fit on my dresser like my old tv did.

Highly recommended for anyone who knows their stuff, not just wanting a glossy image with an overcontrasted, oversaturated picture for football season. The black levels are near impossible to beat unless you go with an OLED set (which start at around $1900 at this time). Other brands I tried, such as LG, couldn't compete. Their blacks were more like dark greys - unacceptable. This set also "just works". The wifi works (no buffering like the LG), and the HDMI ARC just works (I think the LG ARC was only compatible with LG soundbars) so I can actually use my Sony soundbar. The keyboard on the remote is a plus, especially when setting up accounts for the smart features like Netlifx.

I bought this TV unexpectedly. I went in looking for a replacement to my 25.5" that I used to play games on. I purchased this TV as an open box item, but would fully recommended new as well. You simply cannot beat the value and features for the price in this TV. Sure, there may be curved OLED panels available, But in terms for quality and performance at this price or even a close price this TV cannot be matched. If you look at other reviews online you will find that this is just about the best TV in its class, and outperforms TVs in higher classes. One feature that may be overlooked, but was important to me, is that the TV supports a low input lag for gaming. This was the main reason that I bought this TV, as I was looking for a new TV for gaming. This TV will also be useful for the next generation of game consoles as one of the HDMI ports allows for 4K/60p video.
