No, you do not need to enter a credit card number.

In fairness, I've hooked this TV up to the cable system in my office so that's its main use, but I've also used the internet TV functions (Prime Video, YouTubeTV, etc) to allow my grand daughter to look at stuff and didn't use a cc for that stuff either.
