      Great Entry Level 4K TV

Choosing the right 4K TV is alot of pressure when you don't own any and unfamiliar with the different terms used in the descriptions. After doing a week of research, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. My first piece of advice is that whatever TV you decide to purchase, make sure that is has HDR. This TV delivers in that the fact that it contains 2 different modes of HDR. The default found on most TVs is HDR10. It produces great colors and can be utilized through devices such as the Xbox One S, FireTV, and any other device or app that supports UltraHD content. The best part is that this product also contains Dolby Vision which is next level HDR and an important feature to have so that your TV is future proof. Currently, Dolby Vision is only found through Netflix, VUDU, Amazon Prime, and certain purchases on the Apple 4K TV. Support is minimal now, but I guarantee you that purchasing a TV containing this version of HDR is important maintain satisfaction with this TV (or any tv for that matter) for years to come. This TV also contains local dimming zones which is also important for a 4K tv to have as well. Cheaper brands such as TCL, Hisense, Westinghouse, and others typically don't have this. The more zones a tv has then the better. There are only 10 local dimming zones on this TV, but at least Vizio provided some. Sound is great and the picture quality is amazing (especially in the Vivid preset).

Best 43" 4K HDR TV in its class!

      • My Best Buy® MemberMember

The Vizio E43-F1 is hands down the best 4K HDR TV in its class. By class I mean entry level to mid range, price range, and display size. The display quality is excellent. It has great contrast ratio due to it utilizing a VA panel. The 10 zone local dimming helps with this as well. The combination of the two make for excellent black levels and higher quality darker scenes. Local dimming is unheard of in this price range! It also handles motion very well due to its higher refresh rate and has very low input lag, making it great for gaming! I made the mistake of purchasing the Samsung 43" UN7100 for $450 over the Vizio E43-F1 the first time around. I just wasn't very happy with the Samsung and knew I should have given the $330 Vizio a shot first. I took it back and exchanged it for the Vizio, granting me a $120 + dollar refund as well. The Vizio display looks better, has a higher contrast ratio, local dimming (Samsung UN7100 doesn't), better motion handling and lower input lag. The Samsung display housing was better and yes, it looked nicer. It also had a far superior user interface than the Vizio. But the display didn't look as nice and the housing wasn't $120+ better. I'm using it with a Nvidia Shield TV so the user interface doesn't matter to me. You can't get a better TV for this price. It beats the Samsung, Sony, and LG offerings that cost a hundred plus dollars more. See

Excellent 4K TV, Great Features, OK HDR/Picture

      • My Best Buy® Elite MemberElite Member

I've been looking forward to a 4K TV for a while now that I've owned a PS4 Pro/X1X and 4K capable PC. But I managed to hold off the last few years because I was more interested in HDR. Well I finally decided to bite the bullet and get this TV has a graduation gift. The TV was easy to install unto my TV stand and it only took a few minutes to set it up. I wasn't too interested in the smart features because I mainly use my PS4 or PC to access Netflix and Hulu, but I'm surprised at how seamless and fast it works with Chromecast. Anyways, I got this TV mainly for gaming and as a normal 4K TV, it looks AMAZING, I can't go back to 1080p after playing God of War on it. The lag seems low with Game Mode on, but don't take my word for it since I'm not good at noticing those things. Honestly this TV is fantastic, BUT I felt like HDR (the main reason I got this TV) is a bit lackluster. Now I think that maybe a big word, because after days of dealing with the picture settings I think I finally nailed it and the HDR mode on some games do make the colors pop but in other games it can make the colors look washed out. Well I'm still a noob when it come HDR and I have heard that only high-end TVs are the only ones that do HDR justice. Right now, this TV offers a serviceable HDR that may do its job depending on the content its playing on. All in all, this TV has been great overall, I'm keeping it for the 4K and HDR is OK at best, I still think I just need better settings so hopefully more people this TV and figure it out for me :P

Very good pcture, but some issues.

Got my first E43-F1 as a replacement for my E43u-D2 that was un repairable. Hooked up DirecTV, Amazon FireTV and blu-ray home theater system to it. Same equipment that was on the E43u-d2, and worked perfectly. This time, things didn't go so well. Got video and audio on DirecTV, but no audio with the others. Swapped out HDMI ports with no luck. Once in awhile I got audio working on FireTV. But when I changed program, audio dropped. No luck with Blu-ray. Returned tv and ordered replacement. Got replacement and hooked it up. Same issue. But after some switching some audio settings back and forth, got audio working on FireTV. Strange part is that the current settings are the same as when I first set it up. Waiting to see if Blu-ray audio kicks in on it's own. Not a big issue since audio is supplied by separate speakers. They also dropped 1 HDMI port and installed OTA tuner. 4th HDMI input would be very nice to have. Ability to have USB port supply constant power is nice for supplying power to FireTV and saving an outlet. Overall, for the price, it's a rather decent tv. Built in Chromecast and 4k HDR on All HDMI inputs is also a step up from the 2017 model.

Great Picture, not so Great Apps

As a Sony fan I decided to give another brand a try for a TV I wanted to install in my exercise room. I purchased this particular Vizio model for two reasons 1) it has a built-in ATSC TV tuner - something Vizio seem to skimp on in other models and 2) a VA panel that produces a vibrant picture with very good contrast. In a side-by-side comparison in the brightly lit store with the equivalent LG 43UJ6300 (my runner up) which has an IPS LCD panel, the picture from this TV was just better - especially when viewed off center. I prefer LCD TV's with active full array back lighting which this unit has but the LG does not. Fast motion on the Vizio also appeared more natural than the competition. Sound is clear but not that great from the downward firing speakers. Then again most LCD TV's lack great sound however there is no lack of I/O options for video and audio on this TV. Finally the remote control needs work. Tiny flush buttons are difficult to push. Unfortunately it would seem you can't examine remote controls in Best Buy stores before making a purchase. Maybe they tend to get feet and walk away... Overall you will not be disappointed with this TV and, if paired with a faster streaming device such as a Roku Ultra unit, you can achieve the best of both worlds - a great picture in a faster, smarter streaming package.

      Good TV

I have had this tv for a little over a month now. Works pretty well for my needs. I mostly use it to play games on my PS4 Pro. The 4k is nice and smooth! I also watch anime from Crunchyroll on it. Just be sure to configure the TV to actually output 4k and low input latency for gaming when the PS4/Xbox is plugged in (within Menu on the tv). The only slight issues i have had are some slight brightness changes on parts of the tv when i was watching something on Netflix. I only noticed after my friend brought it up. I haven't noticed it except when using Netflix sometimes. Also, 2 or 3 times since owning thid tv, it has blacked out (acted like it was resetting the picture on the tv) as if I had just selected to go to my HDMI-3 (the hdmi my PS4 is plugged into). I am fairly sure this happened because the internet was being weird and thinking i wanted to change to watching something using Chromecast or something like that. Overall, I am satisfied with this tv, especially for the price! Just make sure your picture settings are good for what you are going to use the tv for. The default picture setting is rather dim and weird. :)

Outstanding Picture! Vibrant colors, deep blacks.

Did a lot of research before this purchase of this outstanding 2018 E-series Vizio TV. This tv was rated the best for the $ and I can see why. Picture quality is outstanding. Vibrant colors and very deep blacks. Just be aware this is a VA panel so if you're viewing off center the picture quality degrades. (IPS Panels are better is this regard so I've read.) Not an issue w/me as I put little felt pads under the stand legs and rotate the tv for a better viewing angle. (I really wish this had a rotating center stand as my old LG 43" TV had.) Sound from internal spks is OK but nothing special. (I use my int. amp and Paradigm spks. for sound duties.) One really great feature of this TV is that it has Analog Out RCA jacks .3 HDMI inputs as well. Remote is easy to use and was very easy to set up the tv for first time use. Overall, this TV is excellent except for the viewing angle. Very highly recommended. Thank-you BB for having this in stock.

I love the image my new 4K set has. Watching Netflix titles in 4k is as good as it gets. I'm not overly impressed with the Apps that came with my new Vizio. Quite simply, there are not enough of them. I'm used to ROKU and I think ROKU sets a high bar and has many apps that Chromcast does not have. I did not buy this set so I could stream my favorite apps from my phone and in the few short weeks I've had the set the YouTube app would not open even after software updates. Don't know what's going on there. I have another set with ROKU built in so I got a little spoiled by it. So I ended up buying a ROKU Ultra for this tv. This has been a really good match. I am delighted with the tv and like it even more with ROKU.
