It only had a remote that you can use for volume, channel changes, and input changes. You have to use an app to use the smart TV

It has a basic remote but I use my DirectTV to turn it on and off and everything else when watching regular TV. The app comes into play when I want to watch Netflix and it is easy to do.

Yes the Tv does come with a remote. 4K is really great, awesome graphics. Highly recommended.
