“It states this TV has a built in WiFI. does that mean I don't need wifi in my house? I have Netfix and Amazon Prime on my tablet, but I download movies and docs other than from my home. Can I now transfer them to the tv since it has built in wifi?”

The Tv can connect to Wi-FI. You must have Wi-Fi for it to connect to.
