Technically you can but I don't see a way to change the input so it will give you sound yes but you will be missing everything that is sent to the satellite speakers, the sound bar will send sound as if everything is attached so certain things you will just miss. Now if you can change how the source is sent that could help with the missing sound

The 2 in 5.1.2 indicate the 2 upfiring speakers in the soundbar that supposedly provide the atmos height effect. To answer your question, Yes. You can use the Smartcast mobile app to turn off the surround speakers or height speakers individually.
