Hello McPlot, to use the benefits of the pass through, the sound bar does need to be connected in a certain way. The first step is to connect the sound bar and the TV with an HDMI cord that is plugged in to the ARC (or eARC) ports on both devices. After that is done, you then attach the device that sends the audio through to the sound bar (typically a DVD player, cable box, or gaming console) in to the HDMI IN on the back of the sound bar.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Connect the sound bar ARC HDMI to the ARC on your TV. If you are connect a Blu ray player, connect the HDMI on the player to the HDMI IN on the back of the sound bar. Your TV's CEC has to be ARC ONLY and your TV's speakers should be OFF not AUTO.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Set the sound bar input to HDMI-ARC and the sound from any input on the TV will pass through the sound bar. I have a cable box, TiVo and Nintendo Wii plugged into my TV and all sound toys through the Visio sound bar.
