• No, the rear satellites connect via wire to the sub. The wires are pretty long so they don't have to be close to the sub.

• The rear speakers are individually to the subwoofer. The subwoofer itself requires a power source, but connects to the soundbar wirelessly. Vizio's manual recommends placing the subwoofer right next to your sofa, which allows you to tuck the two cables feeding the rear speakers under the sofa, minimizing clutter.
