• Any rear surround sound rear speaker should be behind the listener or at least to the side.

• The left/right speakers can be placed in front of listener or behind. However, my recommendation for the best sound is behind the listener.

• They have to be connected to the Subwoofer so if you connect the subwoofer in front than they can be in front. Mine is behind the listener.
