• Without the rear speakers, not only you would not have full Atmos sound. You would not even get surround sound.

• To get the full experience of soundbar and Atmos, yes because the rear speakers also have up firing speakers for atmos. You can use just the front ones but you will definitely not be enjoying the soundbar at its full potential in normal surround and atmos
