They are RCA connections if you buy a very slim line RCA it will fit into the speakers or by some extension adapters that are thinner and they will fit in there. So you can add RCA connections at the sub but that plug is proprietary and go further in a little bit but like I said if you use a slimline RCM meaning the plug around the plug is thin I think it will work or by an extension adapter that will work also to add on more wire best thing is just get a female to a male extension slimline at the plug and you'll be good to go just make sure you plug in the right one for Atmos upfiring speaker.
