Yes, this sound bar has a learn mode that will allow you to adjust Vol-, Vol+, and mute with other remotes.

I'm pretty sure you can use any remote as long as you can connect it to the system. But just so you know when my Brothers and I were trying our (5.1.4 Home Theater Sound Bar) for the first time there was information of an app for the system. We used this app and it was easy to use like a remote control just way better because you can control the Treble, Bass, Subwoofer etc. (Vizio smartCast Moblie) is the name of the app but if you can't find it there will be handbook with information to help you along the way. (I hope this information helps)
