Green is just indication of change. Then it will go back to blue. I recommend getting the app as its much easier to tune your speakers and will have the audio format right on the home screen. If it switching from Dolby mat to lpcm, or Dolby mat to Dolby atmos, you'll see the green. If anything switches to atmos the speakers will go up, and they'll come down when its not atmos. So even when I'm watching a show on apple tv+, it will register Dolby atmos, speakers go up. Then there's an ad for some other apple tv + content where the speakers go down, then the actual show starts and they go up again. So obviously the ads are in pcm or mat. The bar will usually cut out for a split second when abruptly changing audio formats, just like it does if you change the EQ.
