First refresh rate does NOT determine motion performance. Input lag is the relevant metric for gaming motion. For instance a 60hz TV with a lower input lag will have better motion than a 120hz TV with a higher input lag. These displays have a 15 millisecond input lag on hdmi port 5, which in short is phenomenal. 40 milliseconds is considered great, to give you a reference point.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Depends if you're gaming on a PC or not. 50" can only support 60Hz while 55" and above supports 120Hz but that can only be utilize on PC and not consoles. If you're a console gamer then the 50" would be a good choice if you're trying to save a few hundred dollars. I personally haven't seen the difference between the 2 yet so I can't tell you how degraded the IPS panel looks versus the VA.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Its almost seemless. If you use HDMI port 5 its made for high end gaming. It actually states that the specific port can be used with high end gaming PC's. I have used both and prefer this particular model to the other!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. In gaming on consoles, there will be no difference, as 60hz is locked. If you want to game beyond 60fps on the PC however, you're going to want the 55 or larger for 1080p 120hz support. Note: This is only supported on HDMI port 5.
