“I'm confused about something I read about this tv. Maybe I misinterpreted it but it said I can't watch local stations with this? Is this correct? Is that just thru antenna or also thru my cable box as well?”

It does NOT have a TV tuner, think of it as a computer monitor, that's why it's called a display not a TV, you would have to by a separate tv tuner if you wanted to plug a antenna or coaxial cable in to it. I use my cable provider box with hdmi out to the display.
