While it does have a wonderful picture quality, the slick design on the screen does not block much glare. I get a good bit of reflection from lights that are directly behind me when watching tv but not so much from above lights. I would recommend finding a tv with a screen that isn't shiny if that makes sense.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It's pretty reflective. When it is off, or when the image playing is mostly dark, you could almost use it as a mirror. Mine faces a south-east facing window, and on sunny days before noon I can't really see the image properly without closing the blinds. I imagine your outdoor setting would be kind of similar, like on a covered porch or something with sunlight coming in from the sides. I did not notice this problem with my old TV (bought 6 years ago). I have noticed all newer TVs are more reflective. I think this is an inevitability; the clarity of the "glass" that allows the sharp image has a more reflective surface. However, it is quite bright, so it would probably be ok on overcast days when the light is diffuse.
