Is this a smart TV null

nope. Not even a TV. This is just a monitor, nothing more. In order to watch it as a TV you either have to buy a tuner or have a cable box that acts as the tuner. The only "smart" feature of this monitor is the ability to use the wifi of a smart phone to connect to it for use as a remote. Once you do this you can use it to watch the videos on your phone on the monitor
