“The measurements list the stand width at 36 inches, is this a measure from the end of each leg to the other or the space in between them? I’m buying a 42 inch wide stand and need to know if this will fit.”

The actual width from the outer most edges of the stands that makes contact with the surface is 38 inches. The legs angle outwards away from the center.
