What no tuner actually means is that if you have BASIC cable, or any type of TV cable system that only uses a coaxial cable, you will have to get an HDMI tuner from your cable company for it. 99% of people have updated cable that this does not effect, but if you are part of the 1% still on a coaxial cable you will have to get a tuner through your cable company. I know Comcast rents them for $3, not sure what other companies charge. All Vizio E series TV's up until this most recent model had a digital tuner (aka coaxial input) so that is why they specify that this new model does NOT have one. I hope that helps!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. What no tuner means is that you can not receive HD channels via an HD antenna...ie. free local tv stations. Ironically, the picture quality you can get for free is better than fios or Comcast.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No tuner needed if you watch tv with cable systems or fios. You connect the providers hdmi port to the displays hdmi port with hdmi cable and channels come up.
