“What is the purpose of the Wi Fi connection? Curious because I noticed the 40 inch sound bar does not have a Wi Fi connection.”

• Thank you for a great question! The WiFi connection, or ethernet connection, is to connect this soundbar to your local network, and Cast to it with Google Cast-compatible apps. Once you set it up with our VIZIO SmartCast app through your Android or iOS smartphone or tablet, you can use apps like Spotify and Pandora and send them directly to the soundbar using Google Cast. • The sound bar connects to the tv by a wire. I hung my sound bar on the wall under my big screen tv. The sub woofer sits on a desk behind my chair. The subwoofer connects wireless to the sound bar. The satellite speakers can hang on your wall near the subwoofer or sit on a desk but those speakers are wired to the subwoofer.
