“Can a soundbar be placed above the tv? And still sound good”

Mine is above the TV and it sounds awesome, but I have to admit, it does sound better if it below the TV at ear level to the listener. That is the same no matter what sound bar you buy.

It will still sound good. If it's convenient to mount the sound bar above the TV and you think it looks good, then by all means. You won't loose any sound quality mounting your sound bar above the TV. I hope this was helpful.

I bought some mounting brackets for ~$10 from amazon and mounted it to/above the TV. It sounds fine to me. I was worried, but I'm happy.

No, the directions even tell you to place the bar at ear level for optimal performance.

I believe it can. Didn't tried it but I see no reason for it not to sound good.
