“Is this monitor suppose to turn on when it detects movement and stay on for as long as there continues to be? Ours will turn off even while baby is still moving.”

• Hi - The VTech VM5242 does not have a motion detection feature. When the sound activation screen feature is set to On, the parent unit will turn on when it detects sounds on a certain level. The parent unit will then turn off when there is no sound activity within 50 seconds. You may need to turn off the sound activation feature for the parent unit to stay on at all times even when there is no sound activity from the baby unit. Thank you, -VTech Support
