• Just loudest volume setting. You can keep plugged in but turn it off anyways

• Hi - The last 2 red lights on the VTech DM111 indicates a higher sound level detected by the baby unit. The parent unit will not use battery power when plugged in to AC power. Thank you, -VTech Support
