I was having the same problems with this product as well on the side of the phone there is a switch that have line 1 or Line 2 try putting it on Line 1-2 first and see if line 2 is busy. If not switch it to Line Line 2-3 or Line 3-4. Put the phone jack cord into the line to which you hear and dial tone with Line 2 not been busy it took me about and hour to complete this because our company had four lines. Your Line 2 on side might not be Line 2 on this phone system it might line 3 showing up once your customer call in it might showed up something else our company our line 2 is line 3 front office is line 1. I hope this help you. I am disappointed in this product.
