“When my father answers calls using his vtech CS6949 telephone (base, not cordless), there is a buzzing sound in the background that is difficult to talk over. He has a second, older telephone; when he answers using it, there is no buzzing. What is prob?”

Is it near the older phone? I had this problem, when I moved the base to another room I the buzz was gone!
