• If you are asking whether you can connect a standard phone cord from the wall into the cordless remote, the answer is no. There is no phone Cat 3 connection on the remote unit. The phone signal must be connected to the base unit from the source jack in the wall via the Cat 3 cable first, and then it will wirelessly send the signal to any and all remote units.

• Hi - The base of the VTech CS6949-2 needs to be plugged in on the jack and an electrical outlet. The accessory handset only gets reception from the main base unit and does not have a jack port of its own. Thank you for your interest! ~VTech Support
