I am not familiar with the Dell products. What I do know is that the Bamboo Ink stylus does require your screen to have a digitizer (think copper mesh grid that is embedded behind the screen). If your computer does not have the digitizer hardware this particular Bamboo pen will not work. I bought two HP Envy x360 2in1 computers (Intel i7 gen 7, 16 GB 1 TB, 15inch screen) about two months apart. The first one cannot use the pen the second one can. The second one has the digitizer hardware upgrade. Never knew this when I bought the computers. I plan on calling Wacom (manufacturer of the Bamboo Ink) when I have a chance and see what pen they recommend for the first computer I bought. It will not be as cool as the Bamboo Ink, but some finer tip stylus is better than the big standard issue bulbous stylus.
