It takes a USB connection. My daughter uses this with her art, and she's pretty happy with it, the cable length is kind of short in my opinion, but easily remedied with a wireless USB connector (I think this version can be upgraded? but I'm not 100% on that). If you plan on using this with a laptop, so long as the pad is placed within a foot of the laptop, it should be fine. If your laptop has a bluetooth connector and a touch screen display, I recommend the Bamboo Ink Smart Stylus (draws directly on the screen, no side pad! I love it!) linked below.

Please try again later.I use mine in a laptop and it came with a decently long cable which is very comfortable, there is a way for making it wireless but you have to buy the parts by separately. And if you are asking for the type of cable it is a USB A-type (like the flash drives) to micro-USB (like the one on most cellphones).
