You can draw on paper or you can draw on the tablet and the image will be saved to your computer. If you are drawing on paper, the paper has to be on top of the tablet for the ink stylus pen to work.

You can sketch directly onto to the pen tablet using Wacom Pro Pen 2, working digitally from start to finish. Alternatively, you can start by drawing on paper with Wacom Finetip Pen, then edit your sketches digitally in your favorite software. Hope that helps.
