Try the medium. The small is a good starter but for heavy use medium would be great. No computer desktop or laptop are your options. They don't work with tablets or phones or iPods.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I bought a small tablet and it's sufficient to travel from the upper left corner of my screen to the lower right. I don't think the medium size is necessary, especially if space is limited. I'd recommend the the Intuos Pro Small to anyone wanting to advance in photography or digital arts of any kind. According to the Wacom website, it is compatible with the IPad but it looks like you may need to buy a stylus separate from the one the Intuos Pro ships with.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My daughter was 12 when she received this. She found it very easy to self learn. This was a great purchase. This is our first program using. Daughter states she does enjoy this program.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This tablet has a USB connector, meaning it connects to PC/Laptops only (from what i read, not sure if there are many other options.) Tablets like these aren't exactly something you just draw on, it's more of like a replacement of a mouse for a computer. It's popular in the style of people who create web comics or animations (if you hadn't noticed it's hard to draw with a computer mouse) so it depends on whether or not your son is willing to do stuff on the computer. I'm also planning on doing something like this, so hope it helps.
