In regards to your inquiry, this inverter should certainly be powerful enough to run a laptop computer as long as the power requirement of the laptop computer fall under 1,000 Watts. (you will also want to check to see if your laptop computer requires a pure Sine Wave Connection. If it does, you will want to purchase a Pure Sine Wave Inverter to make sure they are compatible).
