Hi Husky98, You can insert a fireplace as long as it fits the dimensions of the stand. However, doing so would void any warranty on the product. Walker Edison actually sells quite a few tv consoles that come with an electric fireplace, and include a place for it in the design. If you're interested, you can find them by searching "Walker Edison fireplace tv stand" on Best Buy's site. Alternatively, this one has the same barndoor style, same color, and a fireplace.
