Asked by S.
- A:Answer The LG LT500P® - 6 Month / 500 Gallon Capacity Replacement Refrigerator Water Filter has been tested according to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for the reduction of Normal Particulate Class I Particle size > 0.5 to > 1 um, and Chlorine Taste and Odor Class III. It does not filter out Cadmium, Manganese, Arsenic, lead and copper which are the five most common metals found in water, nor does it filter out rust. Rust is common in drinking water due to iron piping. Iron rusts over time when it's in contact with water and oxygen. While small amounts of rust won't harm the body, overly rusty water can be unattractive, stain, and may pose health risks...^Ivan.
